Shape of C13 studied by the real-time evolution method

Background : Recently, Bijker et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 122, 162501 (2019)] explained the rotation-vibration spectrum of 13C by assuming triangular nuclear shape with D'3h symmetry. Purpose The purpose this work is to test and symmetry based on a microscopic model without assumption shape. Method We have applied real-time evolution method 13C. By using equation-of-motion clusters, describes 3alpha+n system any Results REM described low-lying states more accurately than previous cluster studies. analysis wave functions showed that ground band has approximate symmetry, while excited bands deviate from it. Conclusion This confirmed intrinsic structure arrangement three alpha particles.
